Classic New Enamel lapel pins have an elegance and quality rivaled only by the time-honored process of Cloisonné. However, the modern technology used to make our Classic New Enamel lapel pins offers the added advantage of PMS color matching, not available with Cloisonné. PMS color matching gives you the choice of over 1,000 Pantone colors, allowing you to create a custom lapel pin that is both vibrant and colorful.
Process:
Classic New Enamel uses a resin paste to achieve an authentic, hard, glass-like appearance and is considered to be a smooth surfaced pin. When hard enamel is used in a lapel pin, after striking, plating, and polishing, the enamel is overfilled above the level of the metal design lines. Each pin is then sanded down until the metal surface of the pin is even with the color, creating a smooth and elegant jewelry-like finish.
