Photo-etched Soft Enamel lapel pins can achieve impressively small detail and are the lightest weight of any of our enameled pins. Made with a unique acid reaction process, rather than die-striking to fashion the cavities which contain each color in your design, fine detail is much more easily achieved. This style also provides an inexpensive and light-weight alternative to our die struck lapel pin styles, deeming it appropriate for trading pins, promotions and other giveaways.
Process:
Photo-Etched soft enamel lapel pins have one of the most unique processes known to the industry. An image of your custom design is transferred from a photographic negative onto the surface of the base metal. The design is then etched into a brass base using an acid reaction process. The indentations left by the acids are filled with enamel colors and fired. An epoxy coating is applied over the entire pin, protecting the enamel color and the metal from scratching.
