A Little Lesson on the Art of Embroidered Custom Patches

The art of Embroidery has been defined as the use of a needle and thread to stitch a decorative design onto a background fabric. The thread can be applied by hand or by machine. In the case of embroidered insignia, the use of a background twill is advised. The twill can be any color or white. A smart embroiderer will use the color of the background as part of the design thereby saving time and thread. The finest quality colored embroidery threads are sewn by computer controlled embroidery machines onto the twill to accurately re-create your design giving it a strong appearance and a long life.

Here at  Monterey the use of a multitude of fine quality colored twills combined with an even larger choice of strong, vibrant, high quality threads will allow us to turn your design into striking emblem. Computer controlled embroidery machines loaded with a digitized copies of your design are key to accurate production. After stitching, each patch is precision cut and edged to further enhance the appearance of the final product. If you require, the backing of your choice is applied to the underside. An example of this would be if you would like the    insignia to be able to be ironed on to another fabric object. In this case, a heat seal would be applied to the back. Alternatively, you may prefer your emblem to have no backing in order to be sewn onto garments.
