Classic New Enamel has been increasingly popular since it was invented
in the mid-1980s. It was during that time when a resurgance in the popularity
of the ancient Cloisonne process led to a consumer demand that quickly
exceeded the available supply. It is an excellent quality alternative
to traditional look and feel of Cloisonne.
Classic New Enamel pins are made with the same materials as the Cloisonne
pin and are comparable to it in almost every way, including weight, finish,
materials, and design.
Our Classic New Enamel pins have a base of solid
bronze and can be plated with either 24K gold or shiny silver which
provides a stylish complement to the rich enamel colors. The Classic
New Enamel pins are the perfect alternative to Cloisonne when a customer
requires the exact matching of their PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors.
The Classic New Enamel pin style is also best used when a customer's
art design includes areas of small text, but the customer still desires
the look of classic Cloisonne. The Classic New Enamel process allows
for the best clarity of detail and sharpness of design in areas with
small sized wording.
100% Quality Guarantee
Hard enamel pins are considered to be of the highest quality. The colors
are bold and complex, the best of materials are used, and all craftwork
is done by hand. Because of this, Classic New Enamel pins are often used
by major corporations and individuals who know that quality is key. Common
uses for hard enamel pins are employee recognition, donor or contributor
appreciation, and awards of merit. Recipients of hard enamel pins know
that they are highly valued. Classic New Enamel pins can also be customized
further to give your design an even more unique look.
The addition of
gemstones and customized engraving gives the customer the ability to
make each pin one of a kind original. Engraving allows each pin to be
customized with initials, names, years, or anything else you can think
of! Ask a sales rep how to make your employee year of recognition pins
as unique and special as possible. Hard enamel pins can also be sandblasted
in the recessed metal areas to create a lovely contrast between the slightly
matte sandblasted background, the raised shiny metal design lines, and
the deep coloring of the enamel. The sanblasted background combination
creates a depth of dimension that truly makes a statement.
Classic New Enamel uses a resin paste to achieve an authentic, hard,
glass-like appearance and is considered to be a smooth surfaced pin.
When hard enamel is used in a lapel pin, the enamel is filled to the
level of the metal design lines. Once fired, this serves to create a
pin surface that is quite smooth to the touch and creates an even flow
to the design. In the last production step, our pins are hand polished
on three sizes to give the pins a beautiful jewel-like finish.

The Making of a Classic New Enamel Pin

enamel )
- STEP 1 Molding Molds the metal surface to form the design.
- STEP 2 Outline Cutting * Cutting molds are made separately, then cut to the exact outline of the design. * Outline cutting molds may be required depending on the complexity of the design. * If a center hole or cut-out is required, an additional cut-through mold must be used.
- STEP 3 Coloring * Synthetic enamel is carefully hand-filled, one color at a time, using different sized syringes. * Drying. * To prevent defects, a high degree of skill is required in order to keep each color and the correct amount of enamel in the proper area.
- STEP 4 Baking The metal piece is baked at approximately 450F for 12 to15 minutes.
- STEP 6 Stoning and Polishing * Wait until every piece has cooled. * Finish the surface by stoning with a carborundum stone until all excess color has been worn away. * Polish the surface until smooth and shining.
- STEP 7 Outline Cutting* Cut the metal board in rows. * Cut individual designs in custom outlines ( min. metal outline thickness: 0.8mm ).
