Trading Pins: Outside the Box

When it comes to trading pins any successful Little League baseball managers “think outside the box” in order to generate revenue and enthusiasm for their teams.

Take your team’s design to the next level with team patches.

For example, after The Monterey Company had designed his team’s trading pin this year, one manager asked their designers to make it “T-shirt ready.” The designer put the team’s design in the format that a screen printer could read and easily transfer onto T-shirts, banners or other materials.

“It’s a service that we provide for our customers free of charge,” said Paul Stark, president of The Monterey Company. “We’re proud that our help with your team’s designs can make them more versatile.”

Besides T-shirts, some managers have taken their trading pin designs and put them on embroidered patches, which The Monterey Company can create with 75% or 100% thread count.

“We took our team’s design to the next level and put them on patches that our players put on caps, jackets, backpacks and sports bags,” added another manager. “The patches are larger and show off the colors better and they seem to last beyond the regular season. It even helps us with recruiting players for next year.”

For examples of their handiwork, visit the Embroidered Patch Gallery under the “Specialty Items” pull-down menu on The Monterey Company’s website. Prices are affordable, and discounts start at 50 and continue up to 2,000 or more. Patch sizes range from 2 to 7 inches, with 3-inch patches being the norm.

One Little League team sold their embroidered patches at their concession stand during their regular season games and raised enough money to pay for their trading pins at Cooperstown.
