How Are These Custom Pins Made?
Soft enamel lapel pins are created by die-stricking your design into bronze or Iron metal, leaving individual, miniature reservoirs for each color that will be used on your lapel pins.
We then electroplate with the finish of your choosing, including silver, gold or copper and then hand polished on all three sides. Soft enamel coloring is added to the recessed areas by hand, using multiple sizes of syringes to fill each of the cavities three-quarters full.
The lapel pins are left to air dry, allowing the enamel to settle slightly, resulting in the colored areas being just below the metal surface. This creates multi-faceted detail and an embossed effect that you can feel when you run your finger over the surface. View the types of custom lapel pins we offer and our most popular styles.
This style has texture because the metal around the color is raised and if you want a smooth pin, consider adding epoxy to the soft enamel or you may want to switch styles to a hard enamel or even a cloisonne style.
