Can PVC Patches Be Heat Pressed Or Ironed On?
The quick answer is yes! PVC Patches can be applied to hats and backpacks with a heat press at medium pressure and medium heat. But we recommend creating a sewing channel and sewing them on. We are experts at applying this style of patch to hats. Adding a velcro backing to a PVC patch is another way to add it to apparel and can be easily removed.
Heat Pressing Silicone Patches
Silicone is more stretchable, so it makes a better choice for garments needing to be flexible. Silicone has a higher resistance to heat and a softer feel, especially if added to a shirt where it will be in contact with your skin. It can handle heat press temperatures of up to 200 degrees Celsius vs. 45 degrees with PVC. Both options are waterproof, but PVC will be less expensive and possibly a better choice for headwear.

Things To Consider When Creating A Patch
- Sew-on patches: a permanent way to add them to your hats, or clothing, you can stitch them directly onto clothes, jackets, bags, etc.
- Available with Adhesive Backing: similar to the iron-on, ideal on smooth non-fabric surfaces.
- Velcro Patches: Add hook-and-loop fasteners. One part is on the back and the other gets sewn onto the garment. This allows for easy removal. They can be attached in a number of different ways.
- Adding custom glow-in-the-dark color can allow your design to be seen at night and is a fun way to have parts of your image stand out.
- Adding 3D allows for your image to have a sculpted surface.
- Add additional printing on parts of your design that you would like to have extra details.

Velcro / Hook & Loop

Hook and loop backing are not required but are a great way to add tactical patches to your gear. Velcro can be added so you can easily be removed from any hat or jacket creatng a super-strong bond!
Adhesive Backed:
For attaching your pieces to non-clothing articles, using an adhesive is a great option. Attach to office doors, walls, tables, and or any solid surface. We offer 3m adhesive if you would like to stick them directly to a product. This is not recommended for clothing for obvious reasons.
