What is a sublimation label?
Custom sublimation labels are produced using a sublimation printer and high heat that infuses the transfer material onto fabric. Then, the label is cut to size using a Cricut machine. The beauty of dye sublimation is we can take any unique design, even with extreme detail and complex color blends, and add it to your label, unlike traditional woven labels that require solid colors and simpler designs.
How long does sublimation last on clothing?
Sublimation transfers are a very durable printing process. There is zero chance of the sublimation cracking or peeling. With sublimation, the sublimation paper is infused with the fabric. We use a very high-quality sublimation transfer, which ensures an amazing look. Sublimation on water bottles is a slightly different process and can rub or wear over time.
What is the production time for sublimated labels?
Production time is fast for sublimated labels. We can produce labels in 8 to 15 business days. We do have rush shipping options for fast delivery. What is the best artwork format for sublimated labels?
We suggest vector format, which is an Adobe Illustrator file or EPS format. But we can work with almost all other formats as long the resolution rate is high. For clothing label designs and tagless labels, we suggest high definition and resolution.
What fabric is used for clothing labels?
We use polyester fabric as the base material and our state-of-the-art sublimated transfer paper to produce the sublimated labels. We find using polyester as the label material is more durable than cotton. Other manufacturers commonly use cotton for labels and bag tags.
How do you attach labels to clothes without sewing?
We offer a heat transfer label or iron-on backing option, which requires heat from a household iron or reliable heat press to adhere the label to the item. We suggest, for the best results, heat-resistant tape be used to hold the label in place when pressing. Application instructions can vary depending on the item you add the label to. For the best results, we suggest sewing for custom clothing tags and labels. The Monterey Company does offer sewing services. Can you sublimate on both sides of the label?
Yes, you can sublimate on both sides of the label. They can be produced one or two-sided, not including the fold style. The sublimation heat transfer can be done on each side of our personalized labels.
