If you have been to a baseball game in the USA, chances are you have seen many ‘47 Brand hats. Ever since its inception in 1947, ‘47 Brand has been linked to baseball. Brothers Arthur and Henry D’Angelo set up a souvenir cart outside the famous Fenway Park in Boston and began by selling simple products like baseball pennants, eventually moving on to selling their now famous headwear.
In 1965, the company expanded its business by purchasing retail property on Yawkey Way (now Jersey Street) with the aim of selling Red Sox souvenirs. Eventually, the D’Angelo family would come to own and operate the Boston Red Sox team store across from Fenway Park before selling in 2024.
Throughout the years ‘47 Brand has expanded into other sports such as American football, hockey and basketball. ‘47 Brand has also gone abroad, partnering with Liverpool Football Club in the UK in 2015, cementing its global brand presence.
