What fabric is used for woven labels?
A polyester thread is used as the material for custom woven tags and labels. Unlike woven cotton labels, which don't last nearly as long, we find polyester to be the best fit for durability and look.
How do you attach woven labels?
The most common attachment method for woven clothing labels is sewing with an industrial sewing machine. That is the most secure and longest-lasting method of adherence. The Monterey Company does offer sewing services if needed. Another option is iron-on labels, sometimes called heat application labels, which require heat from a household iron or heat press to melt glue added to the backside of the label. Heat application is a secure and easy application style.
What is the best artwork format for custom labels?
When you upload your label design, the preferred artwork file format is vector files (AI or EPS file format). We can work with almost all artwork formats if vectors are unavailable. The only thing to remember is to ensure the artwork has high definition and the highest resolution possible to ensure we capture the fine details.
What are common sizes for woven labels?
That depends on what you are attaching the label to and the level of detail in your design. Common sizes for custom clothing labels are 2” to 3”, while woven clip labels on beanies are 1” to 2” with a center fold, and product labels can be 3" to 4" size labels.
