How do Hook-and-Loop Patches Work?
Hook-and-loop fasteners are a genius, zipperless way to secure two things together. Every hook-and-loop consists of two different pieces of fabric, which are then sewn onto fabric. One side features tiny hooks, while the order side features tiny loops. When you press the two pieces together to attach them, the hooks catch onto the loops to create a temporary bond. To separate the two pieces, you simply peel them apart. Removing them doesn't cause any damage to either side or to the fabric, allowing you to remove and adhere the patch many times and to many different surfaces.
First created in the 1940s, hook-and-loop fasteners have evolved over time. Most styles are now made of synthetic fibers to help with durability and wear.
