What are the best patch sizes for a hat?
Whether you're looking for an embroidered design or a custom hat patch, we'll make sure your design stands out. Our standard patch sizing falls between 2" and 2.25" tall, depending on the hat, and with the width adjusted according to its proportions. The max width we generally see is 4”. If you opt for direct embroidery, your logo can be up to 4.5" wide by 2.5” tall - the perfect size to fit almost any cap or hat perfectly. How are patches applied to hats?
Hat patches are typically sewn directly onto a hat using industrial sewing machines. A heavy-duty needle is used with the thread color of your choosing. If you choose this option, applying velcro to the back of a patch is done with the same sewing machines. With some hats having an unusual outline, the patch can be heat pressed and also stitched if the shape is not too difficult to follow the border. What type of patch looks the best on a hat?
The answer to this question depends heavily on your company logo or design. The best results for simple artwork are embroidered, woven, leather, or PVC patches. Printing techniques like dye sublimation patches is the perfect solution for more complicated images.

How much does it cost to make a custom patch hat?
The regular price for a custom patch hat varies depending on the brand and quantity you would like to order. For example, if you need to order 36 Richardson 112 Hats, then that will cost about $20 each. In contrast, 150 hats would only cost $15.00 per hat. The pricing will include a custom patch sewn directly to the hats. If you are just producing the custom patches, we can do that as well. Customized patches are inexpensive and can run as little as $0.29 per piece. Depending on the customization options. We offer outstanding price breaks for large orders.
