Creative Ways to Repurpose Your Old Racing Medals
If you are a regular racegoer, you must have a bundle of participation or placement medals you’ve collected. We don’t want your medals to only be used as dust collectors in the darkest parts of your storage. Custom medals are beautifully decorated and tell the story of your accomplishments. We want to help you instead find a new way to repurpose your racing medals in new and creative ways.
1. Get Crafty And Display Your Success
Custom racing medals are always made with purpose, consideration, and care. We want you to be able to treat them as such even when the events are long over. Plus they make for great conversation starters when they’ve been dressed up the right way.
Square Frame
You can place your medals together like a great work of art on a large frame display. Arranging them in color and size can make for a fantastic activity and decor for your home. Guests can see the wide range of races you have participated in, and open the door to any fun stories you have for each racing medal.
Wire Frame
A square frame is a great display option, but what happens when you run more races? Adding medals to a solid frame means you have to take it down to replace medals before rehanging it up again. The ups and downs of replacing medals will drive anyone crazy. Racers have instead begun using wireframes to redecorate their home. The ribbons of your racing medals work as hangers to gently hold your medals, making them easily interchangeable.
Wall Rack
Similar to the wireframe, wall racks are a wall display for your racing medal. Wall racks sit much flatter on the wall similar to the square frame, so they fit easier into your decor. Wall racks make it incredibly easy to switch out the medals you have hanging too. Like ornaments on a Christmas tree, you can delicately hang your racing medals and collect them for every year you participate from that point forward.
2. Make Your Medals Useful
Your medals don’t have to just be beautiful on display. You can make the medals practical to use in everyday activities. Let’s get more use out of those amazing accomplishments and even save you some money!
Coaster
Racing medals make perfect coaster decor since they are almost always created as circles. These medals also fit larger cups so you can have plenty of different coaster sizes. No more worrying about whether your coaster will fit your glass.
Magnets
We have repurposed several designs over the years for clients to make double-purpose medals as magnets. Magnets are useful on your fridge and still work as a great showcase for your accomplishments. Plus, they can show off other major accomplishments or fun rewards on your fridge for, say, if you have children.
Wind Chimes
Wind chimes are one of the most original ways we see racing medals repurposed. Each medal you own is a different size and has unique sound tones when they click together. This will make your wind chime original since the medals will be the only ones you’ve earned. Your racing journey over the years suddenly becomes entirely your own, and everyone can hear it.
3. Recycle your Racing Medals
A racing medal doesn’t have to end its journey with you. Places like Sports Medal Recycling can offer to take your racing medals you no longer use. They offer the service to remove your medals and safely recycle them for future projects. It’s beneficial to the earth and also saves you space in your house at the same time.
